Nicolas Kuhn delivered a sparkling performance, lighting up Celtic Park on Bonfire Night with a brilliant Champions League double to help Celtic claim a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig.
Brendan Rodgers’ side proved too fiery for the Bundesliga visitors, with Kuhn’s first-half brace overturning Christoph Baumgartner’s opener.
Reo Hatate sealed the win in the second half, striking home to give the Hoops seven points in the Champions League group stage, putting them in an excellent position to push for the knock-out rounds. Next up is a home clash with Belgian side Club Brugge.
With four games played, Celtic have taken seven points, leaving them with a solid platform to secure a play-off place and potentially challenge for a spot in the top eight.
Former Celtic star Chris Sutton took to social media to celebrate the impressive win, highlighting four standout players from the night.
“One of the best displays I’ve seen from a Celtic team in the Champions League,” Sutton said.
“A performance of real authority and class against a good Leipzig team.”
He continued his praise, noting specific players who shone: “Trusty phenomenal again. Hatate, Kuhn, McGregor outstanding.”
The atmosphere at Celtic Park was electric, as Rodgers’ men moved within touching distance of the play-off round, just three points away with four games left to play.
