“He is happy to be with us, and will do anything to not return to Celtic” – Sporting Director says Top-class star will NOT be a Hoops Player anymore after £8.32million star Agree he wants OUT of Parkhead following 3-1 win over RB Leipzig, Brendan Rodgers Approves his Transfer

Alexandro Bernabei’s loan spell at Internacional has been a resounding success, with the Celtic defender making a notable impact in Brazil.

The Argentina Under-23 international, who struggled to find consistency at Celtic, has flourished since his move in January, racking up 20 appearances and contributing three goals and three assists.

Reports suggest Celtic are looking for a fee of £8.32 million to make the move permanent. Bernabei, meanwhile, is said to be keen to stay at Internacional, especially with the prospect of playing Copa Libertadores football next season.

Given that the left-back appears to have no long-term future at Parkhead, Celtic will be eager to strike a deal that satisfies all parties.

The Scottish champions spent £3.75 million to bring Bernabei to Glasgow in 2022, and selling him now could allow them to recoup a significant sum.

Internacional’s Sporting Director, André Mazzuco, has weighed in on the situation, expressing optimism about retaining Bernabei.

Speaking to Internacional’s official website, Mazzuco said:

“He is one of the main players on our team, everyone knows that it is a difficult negotiation.

“I can make it clear to the fans that we will make every possible effort to keep him at Beira-Rio. It is one of our greatest desires to have Bernabei next season.

“We are confident in the context, he is happy here, he is important to the squad and is having a wonderful time.”

Celtic’s Chance to Cash In

For Celtic, the primary goal of loaning out Bernabei was to give him regular first-team football and, ideally, increase his market value.

In this regard, the move has been a success. His performances at Internacional have showcased the potential that prompted Celtic to sign him in the first place.

While his time in Glasgow hasn’t gone as planned, selling Bernabei for a significant fee would represent smart business for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

It would not only provide funds for reinvestment but also mark a positive conclusion to a transfer that initially seemed like a misstep.
