Julen Lopetegui could now be on his way out of West Ham as 2 times UCL winner, Treble winner and Europa League Champ issues stance on taking over at the London Stadium to replace the Battered Hammers Boss

Jose Mourinho is reportedly open to managing West Ham United, with Julen Lopetegui under mounting pressure at the London Stadium.

According to TBR Football (9 November), the Portuguese coach, currently in charge at Fenerbahce, is keen on a Premier League return next year and would consider a move to East London.

Lopetegui’s tenure has been underwhelming so far, but talkSPORT’s Jim White (7 November) claimed that West Ham’s hierarchy isn’t yet ready to pull the trigger on the Spaniard’s dismissal.

Mourinho’s Mixed Legacy

There’s no denying Mourinho’s status as one of the greats, with glittering spells at Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Chelsea. However, his stock has waned following less impressive stints at Manchester United, Tottenham, and Roma.

Currently third in the Turkish Super Lig with Fenerbahce, Mourinho’s performance has been solid but hardly spectacular.

A Risky Appointment?

West Ham fans were relieved to see the back of David Moyes, whose pragmatic style wore thin despite delivering success. But Lopetegui’s reign hasn’t delivered the desired results either.

Would Mourinho be the right fit? His defensive mindset might bring stability, but his teams have often been criticised for dull football.

Given West Ham’s attacking talent, many supporters may prefer a manager with a more adventurous approach. The coming weeks will be pivotal for Lopetegui as the pressure intensifies.
