Rangers could face the bitter blow of losing Lennon Miller to Celtic if Barry Ferguson’s prediction for the Motherwell wonderkid proves accurate.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (18 November), Ferguson expressed confidence that the 18-year-old, valued at £4 million by Motherwell, will leave the Steelmen in January.
While Rangers are among the clubs linked with the highly-rated midfielder, Celtic’s interest and resources could make the battle difficult for the Light Blues.
“The valuation of £4m is fair on Lennon Miller – I think he’ll get sold in January. There’ll be a hell of a lot of clubs in for him at that price,” Ferguson said.
“Would I love to see him at Rangers? 100 per cent I would – can Rangers afford him? I don’t know.”
When asked how he would react if Celtic secured the youngster, Ferguson admitted, “I wouldn’t be too happy of course – you want to see good young players go to your team.
“I would be absolutely shocked if both Celtic and Rangers aren’t interested. There will be teams down south, teams in Italy – he could easily play for Celtic or Rangers.”

Signing an 18-year-old midfielder might not seem like a transformative move for a team chasing the Premiership title, but for Rangers, landing Miller could prove pivotal.
Currently, Rangers are clinging to faint hopes of a title race, trailing leaders Celtic and second-placed Aberdeen by nine points after just four months of action.
