Cameron Carter-Vickers delivered a pointed title taunt to Rangers fans as he celebrated Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup triumph at the World Darts Championship.
The Celtic defender seized the opportunity to remind Rangers supporters of the club’s superior trophy haul following their latest success.
Pictured at Alexandra Palace by the Daily Record, Carter-Vickers held up a sign emblazoned with the number 119, a nod to Celtic’s newly-acquired total trophy count.
The victory at Hampden on Sunday marked Celtic’s 119th title, pushing them ahead of Rangers in the all-time silverware stakes. Carter-Vickers, grinning as he posed with the sign, left little doubt about his intended message.
The US international was joined at the darts by team-mates Greg Taylor, Stephen Welsh, Liam Scales, Adam Idah, and Arne Engles, continuing the celebratory mood.
The moment comes amid growing rivalry between the two sets of fans, with Celtic supporters recently mocking Rangers over a banner displayed at Ibrox during a Europa League match against Tottenham.
Rangers fans had unveiled a sprawling sign reading, “Make Rangers Great Again. No Surrender.”
Celtic’s fans turned the slogan on its head at Hampden, unfurling their own banner after the cup win.
It read: “Making Rangers Greet Again,” in a sharp-edged retort that perfectly captured the intensity of the Old Firm rivalry.
