Beloved broadcaster Chris Kamara has announced his return to live football reporting, confirming he will cover Nottingham Forest’s Boxing Day clash with Tottenham Hotspur for Amazon Prime Video.
The former midfielder, who played for numerous English clubs and managed Bradford and Stoke, is best known for his vibrant punditry and presenting roles, including his long stint on Soccer Saturday alongside Jeff Stelling.
Kamara’s infectious personality has made him a cherished figure in football broadcasting.
Kamara stepped away from Soccer Saturday in 2022 after 24 years with Sky Sports, following his diagnosis with apraxia of speech (AOS).
The neurological disorder affects speech and thought processes, a condition Kamara explored in his ITV documentary Lost For Words.
The 66-year-old has since undergone rehabilitation, including clinical trials in Mexico, and has continued to work on pre-recorded projects and podcasts.
Now, Kamara is set to return to live broadcasting. Sharing the news on social media platform X, he wrote:
“Best phone call ever this afternoon inviting me to do the Forest v Spurs game on Boxing Day, reporting back to the Unbelievable Jeff Stelling in the studio. I thought I was done, so it’s a big thank you Amazon. I’m back.”
Jeff Stelling responded warmly:
“And I am looking forward to it as much as you mate. There’s a goal at the City Ground, but for who Chris Kamara?…”
Kamara’s return is a moment to celebrate for fans who admire his enduring passion for the game.
