Celtic have reached a verbal agreement to bring Scotland international Kieran Tierney back to the club, with the deal set to be finalized as a free transfer.
The news was confirmed by renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who revealed that Tierney is expected to rejoin his boyhood club after spending five years in the English Premier League with Arsenal.
While the agreement is in place, Tierney’s move hinges on Arsenal’s decision. If the title-chasing Gunners refuse to let him leave this January, the defender will instead return to Celtic in the summer transfer window once his contract expires.
According to Romano, should Arsenal block Tierney’s departure this month, the Scottish full-back—described as “world-class” by Kenny Miller—will join Celtic after the season concludes, when his contract at the Emirates officially ends.
Tierney has made five first-team appearances for Arsenal since returning from a season-long loan at Real Sociedad.
This announcement comes on the heels of Jota’s return to Celtic, further fueling excitement among fans as the club aims to bolster its squad and maintain its dominance in domestic competitions.
