Celtic winger Luis Palma is reportedly nearing a permanent exit from the club, according to recent updates.
The 25-year-old made a brief appearance off the bench during the closing stages of Celtic’s 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League last night, and it now seems he could be on the move.
Greek top-flight side Olympiacos are said to be “closing in” on signing Palma, with the attacker “poised” to return to Greece in the coming days, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Palma joined Celtic for £3.5 million in the summer of 2023 from Aris Thessaloniki. While he initially adapted well to life in Glasgow’s east end, scoring consistently both domestically and in Europe, he has fallen out of favor over the past year.
In fact, Palma has started just twice for Celtic this season, marking a disappointing campaign for the Honduran international.
A return to Greece now appears imminent as Palma seeks to reignite his career.
This news comes just days after Portuguese winger Jota completed an emotional return to Celtic.
Jota could make his second debut for the club this weekend in their away match against Motherwell, having been ineligible to feature in last night’s clash at Villa Park.
Additionally, Daizen Maeda will be available for selection again after serving a suspension during yesterday’s game.
