Wolves are in a race against time to secure new signings before the transfer deadline, and a recent update on an alternative to Kevin Danso could have significant implications for the club.

So far this month, Wolves have only completed the signing of Emmanuel Agbadou.

That deal was finalized weeks ago, and fans have been left surprised by the lack of further activity since.

The primary focus for Wolves at the moment is to bring in a new centre-back. There is also a desire to sign a defensive midfielder, as Mario Lemina is reportedly seeking an exit.

Additionally, two new forwards could arrive before Monday night’s deadline.

However, securing a new centre-back remains the top priority, with Kevin Danso emerging as the main target.

Despite this, Wolves have been exploring alternatives, though it now appears one player is no longer a viable option.

Axel Disasi does not want Wolves transfer – he ‘only wants’ Aston Villa

Disasi has been on Wolves’ radar, with the Chelsea defender struggling for regular minutes this season.

On paper, Disasi could be a solid option for Wolves, given his ability to play both centre-back and right-back, making him a potential fit for the right side of a back three.

However, this transfer possibility has always been a long shot.

Disasi has already agreed to personal terms with Aston Villa, and it was reported yesterday that he was “insisting” on a move to Villa Park. Now, it seems his heart is firmly set on joining Villa, with Fabrizio Romano providing a definitive update.

He reported earlier today: “Aston Villa have been in touch with Chelsea yesterday and will be again today for both João Félix and Axel Disasi. Disasi only wants Villa, Félix deal depends on what Chelsea decide to do.”

Wolves have to get Danso in now:

Based on this information, it appears there is almost no chance of Disasi joining Wolves this month.

While he may not have been Wolves’ primary target, this development makes securing Danso even more critical.

Danso seems to be the player Wolves are pushing hardest for, and if they fail to land him, fans are likely to be disappointed.

Wolves have also shown some interest in Clement Akpa, but beyond him, there have been few links to other central defenders, which is a cause for concern.

Reports suggest Wolves have agreed to personal terms with Danso, but an agreement with Lens for the player’s transfer has yet to be reached.
