Luis Palma has finalized his move to Olympiacos on a loan deal until the end of the season. The Greek club holds an option to buy the Honduran international winger for €4m in the summer…
Palma had a medical in London on Friday:
Brendan Rodgers confirmed during yesterday’s media conference at Lennoxtown that the deal was likely to progress, and Palma had traveled to London on Thursday evening to undergo a medical ahead of the transfer.
The medical was completed without any issues, and the deal has now been officially confirmed. Palma has returned to Greece to continue his football journey.
Olympiacos announced the signing of Luis Palma from Celtic on their official website. They stated:
“Olympiacos FC announces the acquisition of the 25-year-old international winger, Luis Enrique Palma Oseguera.
Born on January 17, 2000, in La Ceiba, Honduras, he joins from Scottish champions Celtic, where he made 48 appearances, scored ten goals, and provided ten assists.
During his time in Greece with Aris, he scored 17 goals and provided eleven assists in 52 matches.
In his homeland, he has played for CDS Vida and Real Monarchs SLC, while he has also represented his national team 18 times, scoring three goals.

Palma’s last appearance for Celtic is almost certain to have been his substitute appearance at Villa Park on Wednesday night during the 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League. Olympiacos has officially announced the signing of Luis Palma and welcomed the on-loan Celt to the club.

Jota gets his new squad number after Palma’s departure:
Earlier this week, Celtic re-signed former player Jota from Rennes, with Kyogo moving in the opposite direction.
Jota, who had not been allocated a squad number, is included in the squad for the Scottish Premiership match at Fir Park against Motherwell tomorrow afternoon.
This was revealed during the Celtic fan media conference, where Conor Spence attended for The Celtic Star and asked Jota the first three questions.
However, with Palma’s move back to Greece—this time to join Olympiacos—now finalized, Celtic has assigned the coveted and iconic Number 7 jersey to Jota, the Portuguese superstar.
Expect Jota to be on the bench tomorrow and hopefully get around 30 minutes of playing time to help him regain full match fitness.

It makes perfect commercial sense for Celtic to have Jota as their No.7, and fans can expect to see plenty of jerseys with that number in the coming weeks, months, and years.
