Celtic are on the verge of securing a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, marking a potential return for the Scotland international.

The Bhoys have been free to negotiate with Tierney, as his contract with the Gunners is set to expire at the end of the season. Talks have progressed quickly, and a deal now seems close to being finalized.

Sky Sports reports that the Scottish champions are nearing an agreement that would see Tierney sign a pre-contract deal to rejoin his boyhood club.

Once this is completed, Celtic are expected to explore the possibility of bringing him in on loan for the remainder of the season, allowing him to return to Glasgow before his Arsenal contract officially ends.

During his first spell at Celtic, Tierney made 170 appearances across all competitions, cementing his status as a fan favorite.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is in need of reinforcements at left-back. Alex Valle is currently on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season, while Greg Taylor’s contract also expires in the summer.

Should Celtic finalize the Tierney deal before the January transfer window closes, Valle could even depart the club early.

Reports suggest that Italian side Como are interested in taking Valle to Serie A, but any move hinges on Tierney’s early arrival.

This development could address a key area for Celtic as they push to strengthen their squad ahead of the season’s final stretch.
