Wolves are actively working to secure the players Vitor Pereira needs to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season.
The club has officially completed the signing of Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims. The defender has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Wolves, which also includes an option for an additional year.
Agbadou is the first signing of the January window, but more additions are expected as Wolves aim to provide Pereira with two new defensive reinforcements this month. Another defender remains a priority for the club.
Wolves have been linked with Renato Veiga from Chelsea and are also monitoring Kevin Danso. With the team’s defensive struggles evident this season, shoring up the backline is a clear necessity.
However, one player Wolves appear unlikely to sign is Brazilian prospect Vitor Reis, who now seems destined to join Manchester City.

Molineux News recently reported that Wolves were interested in signing Vitor Reis. The Palmeiras centre-back has garnered attention from several top clubs, including Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Brighton.
Despite this, none of these teams, including Wolves, are leading the race for his signature. According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are closing in on a deal for the highly-rated South American talent.
Romano revealed: “Manchester City have agreed on personal terms with Vitor Reis and his agent, contract ready and green light from 18 yo centre back!
“Negotiations underway to close the deal with Palmeiras around €40m, progress being made fast to avoid more clubs bidding. Advancing fast.”
This news follows reports that another Wolves target, Abdukodir Khusanov, is also nearing a move to Manchester City.

With both Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov seemingly headed to Manchester City, it will be intriguing to see how the young defenders develop if their moves are finalized.
Realistically, Wolves were always outsiders in the race for these players. Manchester City are negotiating a deal worth approximately £29 million for Reis and are reportedly willing to pay over £30 million for Khusanov. Wolves simply cannot match that level of financial muscle.
For now, Wolves have secured Agbadou for around £15 million and continue their search for a second defensive signing. It would be surprising if their next addition costs more than Agbadou, given the club’s spending limitations.
