“He is absolutely fantastic..” – Jamie Carragher hails Steve Cooper’s brilliant signing as Nottingham Forest beat Wolves at Molineux

Nottingham Forest took on Wolves tonight, with much of the pre-match conversation revolving around one of their standout players. A win for the Reds would see them reach 40 points from 20 games, and they delivered in style.

At half-time, Forest were in control, thanks to goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood. Later in the match, Taiwo Awoniyi sealed the victory, completing an impressive 3-0 win for the home side.

Before the game, Sky Sports’ analysis focused heavily on Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White.

Both Jamie Carragher and Tom Cairney shared their admiration for the 24-year-old, highlighting his importance to Nuno Espírito Santo’s team and his potential to shine in the Premier League.

Carragher remarked during Monday Night Football:

“I think he is absolutely fantastic and I think Thomas Tuchel is in the stadium tonight. He has been a revelation, not just this season, a brilliant buy from Steve Cooper to bring him in from his former club Wolves.”

Fulham captain Cairney echoed these sentiments, saying:

“I think he is a special talent. He has really kicked on at Forest. I feel like he is growing and getting more mature. If he keeps on adding goals to his game he can become one of the serious players in the Premier League and if Tuchel is watching then he is definitely an England prospect.”

Gibbs-White responds with a stellar performance

Gibbs-White capped off the night with a goal against his former club, silencing the chants from sections of the Wolves supporters that had targeted him.

The 24-year-old finished brilliantly after an excellent assist from Anthony Elanga, who also had a strong performance.

Celebrating in trademark style, Gibbs-White cupped his ears in front of the Wolves fans, a defiant response to those who once cheered for him.

His knack for scoring against his former team was on full display, and with England manager Thomas Tuchel in attendance, Gibbs-White delivered a standout performance, reinforcing his credentials as a rising star in the Premier League.
