Ruud van Nistelrooy had plenty to say following Leicester City’s emphatic 6-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

James Justin opened the scoring for the Foxes just eight minutes into the FA Cup third-round clash on January 11.

Despite a shaky display from Harry Winks, whose poor passing gifted QPR two goals, Leicester’s dominant attack ensured a comfortable win.

Justin added a second to his tally, while Jamie Vardy, Facundo Buonanotte, Wout Faes, and Stephy Mavididi also got on the scoresheet.

The victory was a much-needed boost for Leicester after suffering five consecutive defeats. However, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s post-match comments drew even more attention, especially regarding transfer speculation.

As the January transfer window enters its 11th day, Leicester have yet to make any signings.

Reports suggest this could soon change, with the club reportedly close to securing a deal for Parma right-back Woyo Coulibaly on a four-year contract.

When asked directly about the Coulibaly rumors, Van Nistelrooy played it coy. Speaking to the media via Leicestershire Live, he said:
“We can tell [you] things when it’s 1000% sure on new players. At the moment, there’s no news.”

Pressed further about Leicester’s interest in a new right-back, he added:
“I’ve said before, I won’t go into details on positions. It’s important to keep those cards in front of you as a club and manager. When deals are done, the players can be presented, then it’s the time to talk about it.”

While Leicester fans might be excited about Coulibaly’s potential arrival, criticism of James Justin continues to linger. Despite his two goals against QPR, Justin’s overall form this season has left many supporters frustrated.

Van Nistelrooy, however, was quick to defend the under-pressure defender. Speaking after the match, he said:
“I think JJ had some criticism and he handled it in the perfect way, not only by scoring two but having an excellent performance off the ball, on the ball as well.

“He deserves that. He’s very reliable in that sense of how he lives his profession, how he works and how he trains. I’m happy he could play like this today.”

Leicester’s dominant performance against QPR will give fans hope for a turnaround in their form.

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Coulibaly’s potential arrival continues to build, and supporters will be eager to see if the club makes the defensive reinforcement official in the coming days.
