Premier League contenders Nottingham Forest reportedly made a lucrative contract offer to Juventus center-back Federico Gatti during the January transfer window, but the Italian international declined the chance to move to the Premier League, opting instead to focus on renewing his contract with the Bianconeri.

According to recent reports, Forest were eager to bolster their defensive options by signing Gatti in the January window.

Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis were both present at the Golden Boy Awards ceremony in Turin in December, where initial discussions about the Bianconeri defender reportedly began, as per Tuttosport, the organizers of the event.

Reports indicate that Gatti was offered a substantially higher salary than his current earnings at Juventus to join Forest, but he chose to reject the proposal.

It is understood that the 26-year-old is committed to staying with Juventus for as long as possible.
