Van Beek, a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler, boasts over 100 limited-overs caps in international cricket.

He is particularly renowned for his standout performance in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, where he smashed 30 runs in a super over and then claimed two wickets for eight runs in the West Indies’ reply, securing a memorable victory for his country.

Van Beek is set to arrive in Leicester ahead of the Foxes’ opening County Championship match against Derbyshire on 11 April and is expected to be available for both County Championship fixtures and the Vitality Blast campaign.

The all-rounder was in fine form for the Wellington Firebirds in November, taking five wickets and scoring a century in the Plunket Shield clash against Auckland.

Leicestershire director of cricket Claude Henderson expressed his enthusiasm on the club’s website, stating: “He brings a wealth of experience and great character, which will strengthen both our bowling unit and changing room.”
