Carlos Alcaraz has quickly won over Everton fans since his arrival at Goodison Park.

The Argentine midfielder officially became a Blues player on deadline day (3 February) after Everton secured a loan-to-buy agreement with Brazilian club Flamengo.

The 22-year-old has already made a significant impact in David Moyes’ squad, scoring the decisive goal in the 2-1 win against Crystal Palace (15 February).

Toffees supporters are eager to see more from the former Juventus midfielder, and their hopes may soon be fulfilled following the latest update.

According to a report by Paul Joyce (21 February), Everton are poised to finalize an “unusual” deal for the former Southampton player.

The respected Times journalist stated: “Alcaraz quickly fell down the pecking order [at Flamengo] and his availability in the window piqued the interest of Everton, who had previously followed him, given the low-risk nature of the deal.

“It is unusual for South American players to return to England for a second spell, but he is undeterred.”

Everton can be home for Carlos Alcaraz:

The young talent made a strong impression during his first stint in the Premier League with Southampton, and a move to a bigger club always seemed inevitable in the long run.

He has already showcased his exceptional ability in his first three appearances for the Blues, contributing a goal and an assist in the victory over Crystal Palace, following promising performances against Liverpool and Bournemouth.

Given his early impact, it would be logical for Everton to make his move permanent in the summer, adding the Argentine Under-23 star to Moyes’ squad.

Alcaraz has already expressed his desire to stay at Everton beyond his loan spell, making a permanent transfer a straightforward decision for both parties at this stage.

Everton need higher-quality signings to improve their league position and push for European qualification, and their recent acquisitions, such as Alcaraz and Iliman Ndiaye, have been encouraging.

With the Senegalese international currently sidelined due to injury, the Blues are relying on Alcaraz to fill the void, and so far, he has delivered in his limited opportunities.

With the Friedkin Group’s impending takeover and the move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium next season, it’s an exciting time for Everton fans. If the club can continue to make smart recruitment decisions, it could elevate them to new heights in their new era and steer them clear of relegation battles.
