Following Rangers’ decision to part ways with Philippe Clement on Sunday night, BBC’s Tom English revealed what those within the Ibrox camp are privately admitting about Celtic.

“They desire to adopt the same business model, the same player trading strategy, the same age profile, and the same level of ambition as Celtic.
“That’s precisely what they’re aiming for. They would never admit this publicly, but that’s their ultimate goal.
“They want to become the team from across the city.”

This isn’t the first instance where individuals at Rangers have acknowledged their envy of Celtic.
English disclosed back in July what a source at Ibrox told him about attempting to compete financially with Celtic, and it seems that reality has now fully dawned on the south side of Glasgow.
English remarked at the time, “It’s highly questionable whether they’ll achieve the level of quality or the quantity of talent they desire, simply because Rangers don’t have the financial resources.
“I recently spoke to someone at Rangers, and they admitted that they simply cannot match Celtic financially.
“It’s just not feasible. It doesn’t make logical sense, and they risk plunging themselves into serious trouble if they try.”
With ample funds in the bank, Rodgers continues to drive Celtic’s dominance in Scottish football.
