Rangers interim manager Barry Ferguson has emphasized the importance of having strong personalities in his backroom staff, highlighting the trio of Neil McCann, Allan McGregor, and Billy Dodds as key figures who can help players feel at ease during this transitional period.
The defeat to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership over the weekend led to Philippe Clement’s dismissal, along with the departure of much of his backroom team.
Rangers have turned to club legend Ferguson to take charge on an interim basis until the end of the season, bringing in former Gers stars Dodds, McGregor, and McCann to support him.
As Ferguson prepares for his first game in charge against Kilmarnock on Wednesday, he has praised his coaching staff, stressing that their strong personalities and ability to connect with players are crucial during this time.
Ferguson believes that the presence of such big characters in the coaching setup will help create a comfortable environment for the players, which is essential as the team looks to regroup and move forward.
Brendan Rodgers was right about Rangers:

Like I said the other day, if I listen to the media and the press, then we would be in constant crisis mode and fear of Rangers.
“But it’s the fifth manager now, so for me, my focus is only on Celtic and concentrated very much on here. A lot of the stuff that maybe does go around, thankfully, I ignore it.”
