Jack Harrison’s future at Everton appears to be nearing a resolution as his loan spell from Leeds United approaches its conclusion.
The former Manchester City player has spent the last two seasons on Merseyside, having swiftly departed Leeds when they were relegated from the Premier League.
However, as his loan deal edges closer to expiration, speculation about his next move is intensifying.
Despite David Moyes’ resurgence revitalizing an Everton side that once seemed destined for relegation, Harrison’s form has not significantly improved, which may have influenced the decision regarding his future.
Harrison could return to Leeds for Premier League action next season:
Although Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League is not yet confirmed, their strong performances this season make it highly unlikely they will remain in the Championship for the 2025/26 campaign.
Currently, Leeds sit on 76 points, with second-placed Sheffield United trailing on 73. According to a recent report from LeedsUnited.news (4 March), Harrison could be poised for a return to Elland Road rather than remaining with Everton.
Graeme Bailey provided an update on the winger’s future, suggesting that Harrison could become an “invaluable” asset for Leeds due to his top-flight experience.
“Leeds at this moment believe he is more likely to return than not. He has not done badly, but with the change of manager and hierarchy, it seems they will go in another direction,” Bailey stated.
“Leeds are prepared for this, and there will be no issues with seeing Harrison return in the Premier League. He is a Premier League player, and his experience could be invaluable to Leeds next season.”
Moyes has made the right call on Harrison:
Frankly, losing Harrison is unlikely to significantly impact Everton’s performance next season.
While the Englishman was a regular starter under Sean Dyche, Jesper Lindstrom has been favored since Moyes’ return.
The Danish midfielder has flourished in recent weeks and, to be blunt, has contributed far more than Harrison has throughout the entire season.
At this stage, Everton seem to have benefited more from the loan arrangement, though only time will tell if that holds true.
Harrison’s likely return to Leeds means the funds that might have been spent on retaining him can now be allocated elsewhere within the Toffees’ squad.
