‘He’s coming back home where he belongs?’ Ryan Kent has now made FINAL DECISION on SIGNING for Rangers as Free Agent picks new club ahead of summer transfer window

Ryan Kent appears poised to end his prolonged spell without a club by embarking on a new chapter in Major League Soccer.

The once-coveted winger’s career has taken unexpected turns since his high-profile departure from Rangers.

After his lucrative move to Fenerbahçe turned sour, Kent found himself clubless when José Mourinho terminated his contract in Turkey.

The 28-year-old’s situation sparked rumors of a potential return to Ibrox, with Rangers manager Philippe Clement openly admitting his past interest in the player during his Club Brugge tenure.

Despite strong links to a January comeback in Glasgow, no deal materialized for the English winger.

Alternative opportunities emerged, including interest from Saudi Pro League clubs and a concrete offer from Iranian outfit Persepolis – where his former Fenerbahçe manager Ismail Kartal now coaches.

However, Kent reportedly instructed his agent to prioritize staying in European football, prolonging his search for the right opportunity.

This stance may now be changing as Kent’s free agent status approaches the eight-month mark. His last competitive appearance dates back to July 2023, when Mourinho gave him a brief Champions League qualifying runout.

Recent developments suggest Kent could be heading to the Pacific Northwest, with multiple reports indicating Seattle Sounders are in advanced negotiations to sign the winger.

The proposed deal would cover the remainder of the current MLS season, with discussions reportedly including an option to extend through 2026 should Kent rediscover his form in North America.
