EXCLUSIVE – World-class Manager better than Brendan Rodgers to Rangers update emerge after getting SACKED by parent club amid Ibrox move

Rangers face significant hurdles in their pursuit of recently-available German manager Marco Rose, according to Football Insider sources.

The 48-year-old tactician, fresh from his dismissal at RB Leipzig after two-and-a-half years at the Bundesliga club, appears an unlikely candidate for the Ibrox hotseat despite Rangers’ ambitions under prospective owners 49ers Enterprises.

While the Glasgow giants are expected to target high-profile managers this summer, Rose’s pedigree – including a German Cup triumph in 2022-23 and subsequent Super Cup victory – makes him a challenging acquisition.

Football Insider’s Monday report (31 March) indicated Rangers won’t finalize any managerial appointment until after their season concludes on 18 May, with the decision closely tied to the ongoing takeover process.

Interim boss Barry Ferguson has bolstered his case for the permanent role with impressive victories against Fenerbahce and Celtic, though the club appears committed to a thorough search.

The former Rangers captain remains focused on steering the team through their remaining fixtures, with the Gers currently trailing Celtic by 13 points in the Premiership title race.

Should Rangers secure new investment, their next manager could benefit from a substantial £20-25million war chest this summer – funds desperately needed to bridge the gap with their dominant Old Firm rivals.

However, convincing a manager of Rose’s caliber to take on the rebuilding job at Ibrox may prove difficult given Celtic’s current stranglehold on domestic silverware and the financial limitations of Scottish football.
