‘BANNED away from Scottish Football?’ Police makes FINAL DECISION on the PUNISHMENT for Vaclav Cerny’s Stupidity and Disrespect to skooshed water in Celtic fans’ faces after Rangers’ derby day winner without apologizing

Two weeks ago, Vaclav Cerny ignited a storm of controversy by splashing water into the faces of Celtic supporters following Rangers’ triumph in the derby.

The Czech player’s actions drew sharp criticism from two ex-referees who labeled him ‘infantile,’ while the SPFL continues to weigh the possibility of a ban for the Rangers man whose lack of respect hit a new peak.

Barry Ferguson, unsurprisingly, defended his player, chalking it up to “excitement” getting the better of him, whereas Brendan Rodgers offered a calm but firm opinion that Cerny had overstepped a boundary.

Police Scotland opened an inquiry into the episode, which was broadcast live by Sky Sports cameras as Rangers reveled in their 3-2 victory over Celtic on March 16.

Vaclav Cerny escapes further Police Scotland action for Celtic vs Rangers water incident:

What began as a spiraling controversy has now been laid to rest, with the police wrapping up their investigation and opting not to pursue additional measures.

They confirmed, however, that they’ve discussed the matter with the Ibrox club regarding their player’s behavior, though they won’t take Cerny’s antics beyond their initial assessment.

The Daily Record cited Police Scotland’s statement: “We received information, enquiries were carried out and no criminality has been established.

“Officers have engaged with the club and advice was given.”

Cerny’s reckless act caught the attention of pundits in England, with Simon Jordan weighing in on the matter, while Danny Murphy’s take revealed his lack of grasp on the rivalry’s intensity.

Celtic squad advised on a petty way to retaliate against Cerny:

The incident was an ugly and avoidable mess on a day when Rangers celebrated as if they’d clinched the title, despite Celtic still holding a commanding 13-point lead in the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops remain the nation’s top side, and one off day at Celtic Park won’t alter that reality.

One pundit and former player from down south even suggested a cheeky way for Celtic’s squad to get back at Cerny, proposing a particularly small-scale act of vengeance.

Gabby Agbonlahor shared on talkSPORT: “Do you know how petty I am Al (Brazil)? If I was a Celtic player, Callum McGregor or something and we play them next time, when he’s not looking or at half-time walking off…I’m squirting him, right after the game,” Agbonlahor laughed.

“I’m getting the water bottle and I’m going to squirt him in the face with it.

“It’s petty isn’t it? It’s not a big deal and it’s quite funny.”
