Genoa defender Radu Dragusin is reportedly ready to sign a new contract with the Italian club, despite interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.
In recent weeks, the Romanian international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League.
Both Man United and Tottenham are looking to strengthen their central defensive line and Dragusin has been mentioned as a possible January arrival.
Sporting director Marco Ottolini told Il Secolo XIX newspaper from Genoa that the club has not yet received an offer for Dragusin, as well as Morten Frendrup and Alberto Gudmundsson.
Ottolini confirmed that Dragusin will sign a one-year contract extension until 2028.
“Lots of phone calls, but no offer,” Ottolini said.
‘The will of the company is not to sell anyone, but if an offer comes in, the owners will have to evaluate it and the player’s opinion will also count.
‘But the will, I repeat, is that we will not make concessions to anyone.
‘Dragusin will have one more year of his contract and then we are talking to Frendrup about an extension.’
According to the Telegraph, an extension to Dragusin’s contract could affect his price tag as Premier League clubs remain interested in the 21-year-old defender.
Dragusin made his name at Juventus and then enjoyed a successful spell at Genoa.
Genoa took Dragusin on loan last season and then were able to sign him on a permanent deal for £5 million, meaning he could be looking at a significant earning potential.
Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea has previously spoken openly about his client moving to England.
He said: “I have been in London for some time and have almost weekly meetings with important teams. We are getting closer and closer.
I have spoken to Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham.
I have messages and talks with them. Some teams are asking about Dragusin.
It was also reported in Romania that Man United have opened advanced talks to sign the defender.
