Mikel Arteta set to ANGER Ange Postecoglou much to Gary Neville’s delight after latest news coming out of the Emirates Stadium ahead of the January transfer window

Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Brentford over striker Ivan Toney due to links with Tottenham Hotspur.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Arsenal are considering whether to make a “concrete” attempt to sign Brentford star Toney in January, despite strong interest from north London rivals Tottenham.

He claims that the Gunners have already made “first steps” with the striker’s entourage and that negotiations with the Bees could start soon.

Toney was fined an eight-month ban in May after admitting 232 breaches of the FA’s betting rules, but the England international had his suspension reduced due to an established gambling addiction.

The 27-year-old will return to the pitch on 17 January 2024 and it seems that teams are lining up to secure his services. Despite his contract expiring in the summer of 2025, he won’t be going cheap, with Chelsea and Tottenham interested in him.

Toney changed agents in the summer, suggesting that he could look for a new club in the near future. The former Peterborough United star scored 21 goals for Brentford in all competitions last season, up from 14 the season before.

Brentford may be preparing transfer bids for their prized asset when the January window opens next month.
