“Best to let him go” – Spurs top notch star looking for a new challenge after fall out with Ange Postecoglou, he’s not ready to stick around and help the club fight for the Premier League Title

Juventus have been given a boost in their search for Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Italian portal Calciomercato.com reports that the Danish international is “looking for a new adventure” and could leave in the January transfer window. And that makes sense for him.

The former Southampton and Bayern Munich centre-back has been a regular for all their managers since signing for Spurs. Right up to Ange Postecoglou.

Under Antonio Conte, Hojbjerg was confined to the bench, which would have been unthinkable. And this in the prolonged absence of Rodrigo Bentancur, who has only recently returned from a long-term cruciate ligament injury.

It is best to sack him:

Hojbjerg, 28, had to wait until Yves Bissouma was suspended to start in the 2-0 win against Fulham in the Premier League. A player like him adds a lot of depth and quality to the team.

But is it worth keeping him if he does not start? If he is happy with that role, why not? However, that is certainly an unlikely scenario. A player cannot play forever to play at the highest level.

Hojbjerg, of all players, cannot possibly be content with warming the bench. A transfer to Juventus, who have lost Paul Pogba and Nicola Fagioli for different reasons, could allow him to restart his career elsewhere.

The Dane would have to get used to a new environment and a new challenge at another giant European club. The aforementioned report also adds that Juventus want to focus on signing a new midfielder in January.

Therefore, the Spurs should prepare themselves for an offer. They should not sell him at a low level. He has more than 18 months left on his contract (Transfermarkt) and we can always wait until the summer to sell him.
