‘Tim Steidten wasted big money on him?’ West Ham insider confirms Julen Lopetegui doesn’t think New Hammer’s signing is TOUGH ENOUGH for the Premier League after 3-0 defeat to Chelsea

Julen Lopetegui reportedly has concerns over Jean-Clair Todibo’s suitability for the Premier League, despite the French defender’s high-profile move to West Ham.

According to Hammers News on 22 September, a West Ham insider revealed that the manager “thinks Todibo is not tough enough for the Premier League,” despite growing calls from supporters for him to be included in the starting line-up.

The 23-year-old centre-back, signed from OGC Nice on an initial loan deal, was expected to make an impact at the London Stadium, especially after West Ham fended off interest from Juventus to secure his signature.

However, Todibo has yet to make his Premier League debut and was an unused substitute in the Hammers’ recent 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

An insider has suggested that Todibo “deserves games,” given his potential, and it seems strange that Lopetegui is reluctant to use him.

The West Ham boss has instead preferred Konstantinos Mavropanos alongside Max Kilman at the heart of defence, as the team struggles to find form in what has been a poor start to the campaign.

Fans are beginning to question why Todibo hasn’t been given a chance, particularly given his performances for OGC Nice, where he was regarded as a top-class defender.

The Frenchman’s pedigree suggests he could be a success at West Ham, but Lopetegui’s apparent lack of faith in him is causing confusion among supporters.

While the Hammers have struggled in defence this season, many believe Todibo could offer the physical presence and defensive quality that the team needs to improve their fortunes.

However, it remains to be seen whether Lopetegui will give him the opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League.
