A former Celtic player, Hyeon-Gyu Oh, has rediscovered his scoring touch after moving away from the Scottish champions.
The 23-year-old forward, who joined KRC Genk for £4.5million in July, appears to be thriving after a difficult spell in Glasgow.
Oh had arrived at Celtic from South Korean side Samsung Bluewings with high expectations.
Then-manager Ange Postecoglou described him as “the striker I really wanted” when he signed a five-year contract.
However, the form of Kyogo Furuhashi and the subsequent change in management soon hampered Oh’s chances to establish himself as a regular starter. The arrival of Adam Idah eventually pushed him even further down the pecking order.
During his time at Celtic, Oh made 47 appearances, scoring 12 goals, but most of his opportunities came as a substitute. His confidence took a hit, particularly in the final months under Brendan Rodgers when he spent more time on the bench than on the pitch.
Since leaving Celtic, Oh has enjoyed something of a resurgence. He scored for South Korea in their 3-0 victory over Jordan on Thursday night, a crucial win that sent his country to the top of their World Cup qualifying group.
This latest goal brought his tally to four goals and one assist in his last five matches across all competitions.
What makes his recent form even more remarkable is his improved conversion rate, despite still featuring mostly as a substitute.
While Rodgers may have made the right call in allowing Oh to move on, there’s no doubt many Celtic fans will be pleased to see him finding success away from Scottish football.
