Luka Vuskovic is set to leave Hajduk Split to join a club in the Netherlands on loan, Tottenham News reports.
Spurs have already secured the signing of the talented central defender in a deal worth £12 million (Evening Standard, 25 September).
The Croatian international has been in high demand as top European clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have been bidding to sign the 16-year-old.
Due to the UK’s exit from the European Union, FIFA rules prohibit British clubs from signing foreign players under the age of 18, which means that Vuskovic must wait until 2025, when he will turn 18, to join Tottenham, as he is already under contract until 2030.
Meanwhile, a source close to Spurs and the Croatian market told Tottenham News that Vuskovic is ready to leave Hajduk Split and move to north London next year.
The tall right-back is expected to join the club on loan in the Netherlands, where he is keen to accelerate his development ahead of a move to the Premier League.
Vuskovic made his professional debut for Hajduk Split in February 2023 at the age of 15, making him the youngest player ever to play in the Croatian top flight.
He became Hajduk’s youngest ever goalscorer when he scored against NK Osijek, five days after celebrating his 16th birthday.
Vuskovic racked up 11 appearances last season to help Hajduk lift the Croatian Cup, while also captaining the club’s Under-19 side to the UEFA Youth League final.
The centre-back has made five appearances for Croatia U-17s and scored once.
