Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo has provided an update on Ola Aina’s contract situation as the Super Eagles defender approaches the final months of his deal.
Aina’s current contract is set to expire next summer, and Forest are eager to secure his long-term future to avoid losing the player on a free transfer.
Since joining from Torino, Aina has been a consistent performer, becoming a key figure in Forest’s Premier League campaign this season.

The right-back has featured in every league match for Forest, earning praise for his defensive solidity and attacking contributions.
His standout performances include impressive displays against Liverpool’s Luis Díaz and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
Aina also showcased his offensive capabilities with a stunning Goal of the Month contender in Forest’s 3-0 win over West Ham earlier this month.
With interest from other clubs growing, Forest are keen to retain the services of the Cobham Academy graduate.
Espírito Santo remains optimistic about Aina committing to a new deal, expressing his admiration for the Nigerian international.

When asked about the contract talks, the Portuguese manager told reporters:
“I think things are going well. I am a coach, I give my opinion. We love what Ola is doing, we love him as a player, as a person.
“There are other people in the club that take care of those discussions.”
Forest, however, have endured a challenging spell in the league, suffering back-to-back defeats in their last two matches. They will look to bounce back and reignite their form when they face Ipswich Town at the City Ground on Saturday.
Securing Aina’s future will undoubtedly be a priority for Forest as they navigate the season and plan for the long term.
