Rangers manager Philippe Clement has issued a defiant message to rivals Celtic, insisting the Scottish Premiership title race is far from over despite his side trailing by 11 points.
Clement’s team secured a narrow 1-0 victory over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Sunday, reducing the gap to the league leaders.
While Celtic have been in imperious form this season, many believe the title is already destined to remain at Parkhead, with Rangers struggling for consistency.
However, Clement is adamant that nothing is decided in December. The Belgian stressed his focus remains solely on ensuring Rangers take maximum points from each game as they look to apply pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Speaking to BBC Scotland, Clement said: “I’m not counting. Nothing is ever decided in December, but we want more points, we want to win every game.
“I want players who are focused on winning that next game, nothing more.”
Rangers return to action on Wednesday night as they host Kilmarnock at Ibrox, aiming to maintain momentum.
Meanwhile, Celtic face a potentially tricky test away at Aberdeen, with Pittodrie historically proving a tough venue for the champions. The title race, Clement insists, is still alive.
