After Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou expressed his doubts about Ivan Perisic, the Croatian footballer recovering from anterior cruciate ligament surgery, the player himself posted an interesting message on Instagram.
Whether or not it was related to a statement made by the coach of the English team, it is powerful and motivational, especially for Hajduk fans who hope that Perisic will soon put on the white jersey.
“To that unwavering voice in my head that never lets me give up,” Perisic wrote, indicating his constant struggle and preparation for his return to the football pitch. He shared several photos from training sessions that hint at a quick return, making fans eagerly await his arrival in the Hajduk squad, possibly as early as next season.

The 34-year-old contributed 14 assists and one goal in 50 appearances for Tottenham, but suffered a complex anterior cruciate ligament injury in a non-contact training session at Hotspur Way in September and had to undergo surgery. The experienced Croatian is determined to play for his country at the Euros this summer and has been linked with a move back home to play for his home club Hajduk Split, should he be healthy enough to play a few games at the end of the season.
With his contract expiring in the summer, Postecoglou admits that he does not expect Perisic to play for Spurs again.
“No, he works hard, to be fair to Ivan. Obviously he has some national team commitments that he wants to get back to as soon as possible,” he said. “I stress again that he was a big loss for us. I thought he was going to make a really important contribution this year because of his experience and we saw that in the first few games because he influenced the games, but yeah, he won’t … he probably won’t play for us anymore.”
Tottenham will kick off their FA Cup campaign on Friday night against Burnley, looking to take the first steps on the road to ending a 33-year wait to lift the grand old trophy again.
