Vítor Pereira is poised to take over as Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, with reports from Ben Jacobs indicating the Portuguese coach has verbally agreed to lead the struggling Premier League side.
The experienced tactician, who has managed in Portugal, Greece, Turkey, China, and Saudi Arabia, is eager to prove himself in English football.
Pereira, formerly of Al-Shabab, is set to fly to England to finalise the deal, with Wolves hoping he will be in charge for their pivotal clash against Leicester City on Sunday.
This appointment would extend Wolves’ tradition of hiring Portuguese managers, following Nuno Espírito Santo and Bruno Lage. The club, battling relegation, is desperate for a resurgence under Pereira’s leadership.
Fosun International, Wolves’ owners, maintain strong links with influential football agent Jorge Mendes, who has orchestrated numerous deals for the club. However, it remains unclear if Mendes played any role in Pereira’s imminent arrival.
