Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Radu Dragusin, but Romanian expert Vasile Miriuta is not impressed by the defender’s move.
Tottenham announced their first January signing on Tuesday night when Timo Werner arrived from RB Leipzig.
Signing number two is no longer far away as Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin is about to be announced as a Tottenham player.
According to HITC Football, Dragusin is expected to arrive in London today for a medical after a dramatic transfer saga in recent days.
Bayern Munich tried to rule out Tottenham’s bid for Dragusin, but he eventually opted for a move to north London, rejecting the Bundesliga giants.

This decision has raised a few eyebrows.
Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and is a regular Bundesliga winner.
Thomas Tuchel’s charges have their sights set on the Champions League crown this season and a move of this kind would be attractive to many players.
Dragusin received an offer from Bayern and, after a long pursuit, decided to stay loyal to Tottenham.
Not everyone agrees with this call and among them is pundit Vasile Miriuta.
The former Bundesliga centre-forward was born in Romania and remains a pundit there, even though he played for Hungary as a player.
Miriuta has now told Digisport that he would rather see Dragusin join Bayern to win the Bundesliga title every year.
Miriuta thinks Tottenham are “good, but not very good” and has completely written off any chance of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
The former Dinamo Bucharest boss added that Dragusin is likely to play more at Spurs than at Bayern, which is important for his development, although he does not fully agree with the transfer.
“A big step. I would have liked to see Drăgușin come to Bayern,” Miriuta said. “There he would have won the title and played in the Champions League year after year. I think Radu really wanted to go to England to develop there. He went to a good team, but it wasn’t a very good team. A team that can’t compete for the Premier League title.”
“He is not the size of Bayern, that’s the truth. But it’s a team with a name, that was his wish. There is a chance he will play, otherwise they wouldn’t have spent so much money on him. The management and the coach wanted him very much. He can grow a lot, it’s important that he’s healthy and that he plays there,” he added.
Dragusin is certainly a great talent, but he will not immediately join Tottenham’s top four.
At Spurs, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have formed a very impressive centre-back pairing this season and both will be fully healthy soon after injury.
Dragusin may have to start as Tottenham’s third-choice central defender and work his way into the starting eleven under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou.
The 21-year-old seems convinced that he can become a star at Tottenham and who knows how far he can go with Postecoglou’s charges this season, with Spurs only six points behind first place.
