Nottingham Forest are reportedly leading the race to secure a £60 million signing in the current transfer window, according to a recent report.
Nottingham Forest suffer shock defeat to Bournemouth
Forest’s impressive eight-game winning streak in the Premier League was brought to an abrupt halt on Saturday afternoon, as they suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth.
A hat-trick from Dango Ouattara, alongside goals from Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo, sealed a dominant victory for the Cherries and handed Forest their fifth league defeat of the season.
After the match, manager Nuno Espírito Santo admitted the performance was far from what anyone had expected:
“Nobody expected a game like this. Bournemouth were better than us. Realising what we did wrong – a lot of things. Usually, our strengths are when we block and are compact. When we give space to our opponents, things get harder.
“For the second half we went to the dressing room to try and correct things and put things right, but we didn’t do that. The second half was very bad.”
Despite the defeat, Forest remain in the race for a top-four finish, sitting three points clear of fifth-place Newcastle United.
However, with teams like Bournemouth and Manchester City closing the gap, and Arsenal and Liverpool pulling further ahead, Forest will need to regain momentum quickly to stay in contention.

Following the disappointing loss, Nuno may be looking to bolster his squad, and according to a report from Spain, Nottingham Forest are now favorites to sign Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The report claims that Forest have overtaken Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for Cunha’s signature.
His standout performances for Wolves this season, despite their struggles in the Premier League, have made him a sought-after player. While clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea remain interested, Forest appear to have taken the lead in negotiations.
The report also suggests that talks between Forest and Cunha are progressing swiftly, with the player reportedly open to joining the ambitious project at the City Ground. This comes despite earlier reports that he had agreed to a new contract with Wolves.
