“I am really happy, the manager just told us he will be JOINING on…” – Paulo Bernardo admits he’s excited with Celtic’s New DONE DEAL Agreement for Top-class veteran after the arrival of Jota

Celtic have been quite active during the January transfer window, and the final days could see even more excitement.

Typically, such a flurry of activity isn’t expected, especially with Celtic dominating domestically and performing well in the Champions League.

However, circumstances beyond Brendan Rodgers’ control have led to a series of deals, including Kyogo Furuhashi’s move to Rennes.

This has sparked a whirlwind week, which also saw Jota return to Celtic, while Alex Valle’s loan from Barcelona was cut short, allowing him to join Cesc Fabregas at FC Como in Serie A.

With Celtic set to compete in the knockout stages of the Champions League, it’s almost certain that more signings will be made, as the team requires additional quality and depth.

One name on everyone’s mind is Kieran Tierney.

Rodgers has confirmed Tierney’s return; the only question is when the Arsenal star will wear his boyhood club’s colors again.

Whether it’s before the January transfer window closes on Monday or in the summer on a free transfer, a pre-contract agreement is already in place, and Paulo Bernardo is “really happy.”

The Portuguese midfielder is thrilled that Celtic are adding “quality” to the squad, especially with Jota also back in the fold, as shared by Celtic TV.

“The manager mentioned that Kieran Tierney will likely be joining in the summer, maybe sooner,” shared a reporter.

“Added to Jota as well, from the players, is there a sense that the club, and the squad, is really upping their level and moving onto the next level. Bringing in so many quality players. Do you feel that within the group, at the moment?”

Bernardo responded: “Yeah, I think we have a great group, and if we add this quality, it’s great for us. It’s always good to have better players in the squad.

“If we have a competitive group, it’s good for everyone, so I am really happy.”

It has been over a month since Tierney returned from injury, yet he has seen very little playing time and has hardly started any matches.

Youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly is being preferred over him, performing well and likely signaling that it’s best for Tierney to rejoin Celtic now.

With Celtic competing in the Champions League knockout stages, any additional quality would be a significant boost, especially considering Tierney has played just over 100 minutes this season.
