Pablo Sarabia delivered a dismal performance against Liverpool. The 32-year-old appeared completely out of sync and out of his depth in the Premier League.
Sarabia was directly at fault for Diaz’s goal and, unsurprisingly, was substituted at halftime.
Fans on social media were quick to criticize the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder. They voiced their frustration with his lackluster display and called for him to be dropped for the team’s upcoming fixtures.
It’s hard to argue with their assessment after such a poor performance, one that saw the Spaniard fall short in every aspect of the game.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Fosun must resist the temptation to offer him a new deal, even if he appears to be a cheaper alternative to a younger signing.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde a much better option:
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who was unlucky not to start against Liverpool, replaced Sarabia at halftime.
Bellegarde made an immediate impact, bridging the gap between midfield and attack. The Frenchman’s contributions included providing the assist for Cunha’s goal.
While no Wolves player will grab the headlines after the defeat, Bellegarde was one of the team’s standout performers. Following his goal against Aston Villa, he has given Pereira plenty to consider ahead of the clash with Bournemouth.
