Rangers have made the decision to part ways with Philippe Clement, sacking the Belgian manager on Sunday evening, just over 24 hours after a disappointing 2-0 loss to St Mirren at Ibrox.

The move came on a day when Celtic also stumbled, falling 1-0 to Hibernian at Easter Road, but it did little to alter the dynamics at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers fans arrived at Ibrox hoping to reduce Celtic’s commanding 13-point lead to 10, only to leave with the gap unchanged and Celtic’s goal difference further boosted by an additional goal.

The frustration for Rangers supporters was heightened by comments from a Celtic icon and Sky Sports pundit, who took to social media platform X to weigh in on the situation. “On October 30 after the defeat to Aberdeen myself and Kris Boyd said it was time for Big Phil to go.

“The Rangers board didn’t listen…He seemed to be a decent man but didn’t understand the demands of football in Glasgow. Another Rangers manager seen off by Brendan Rodgers…”

Brendan Rodgers’ impressive record against Rangers managers continues to grow. With Clement’s exit, Rodgers has now outlasted six different Ibrox bosses during his two spells in charge at Celtic. His dominance over the blue half of Glasgow is becoming a recurring narrative, adding yet another chapter to the managerial instability at Rangers.

Despite Celtic’s rare slip-up, Rodgers’ side remains firmly in control of the league.

As Rangers prepare to reset once again, Celtic continue to maintain their steady course under Rodgers’ leadership. With a title challenge now appearing out of reach for their rivals, the Hoops will focus on solidifying their position and pushing forward.
