‘Deal Getting Closer’ – Contract Agreement Reached as Nottingham Forest table ‘Serious Transfer Offer’

Nottingham Forest are reportedly targeting versatile Fenerbahce full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Whether or not the Reds secure Champions League football for next season, they are set for a crucial transfer window in a few months’ time.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently sit third in the Premier League and have advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, meaning there is a strong possibility the club will be planning for some form of European competition next season.

According to Turkish newspaper Takvim, Osayi-Samuel is a player Forest are interested in as they strategize for the summer. His contract with Fenerbahce is set to expire in June, making him available on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old is said to be especially eager to return to England, having previously played for Blackpool and QPR. Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, have reportedly held three rounds of talks in an attempt to convince him to extend his stay, but he is said to have turned down their latest contract offer.

While reports from Turkey should often be taken with a grain of salt, this one claims that the Nigeria international has reached out to English clubs to explore his next move. It is suggested that Forest “made the most serious offer” and that a pre-contract agreement has already been signed.

The report indicates that Forest view Osayi-Samuel, who can play as a right-back or winger, as a potential replacement for Ola Aina. Aina joined Forest on a free transfer in the summer of 2023, and an automatic one-year extension is expected to be triggered on his contract, which is due to expire this summer.

However, discussions have taken place regarding a further extension, and the 28-year-old has expressed his desire to remain at the City Ground for the long term.

Osayi-Samuel moved to Fenerbahce from QPR in 2021 and has previously been linked with a move to Crystal Palace.
