ZeeboiLeicester City’s swift return to the Championship appears almost inevitable at this stage.
Though it’s not yet a mathematical certainty, their dismal record of one victory in their past 16 matches suggests a monumental turnaround would be required to salvage their season.
The Foxes have pulled off miracles before, notably their stunning relegation escape in the 2014/15 season when all seemed lost, but that squad appeared to possess a greater resilience.
Now, ex-Premier League forward Clinton Morrison has pinpointed what he sees as the root of Leicester’s woes this year.
Clinton Morrison attributes Leicester’s troubles to poor recruitment:
On Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday, Morrison didn’t mince words.
The 45-year-old declared: “Leicester’s recruitment has been nowhere near good enough.
“To survive in the Premier League, they needed to strengthen. They didn’t strengthen enough.”
He elaborated on specific weaknesses, noting: “Apart from Jamie Vardy, I look at Leicester and I think, ‘Who’s going to get you a goal?’
“They’re relying on a 38-year-old centre forward to keep going and going and going.”
Vardy, with seven goals in 28 appearances, leads Leicester’s scoring charts this season.
No other player has exceeded four goals, exposing the team’s glaring lack of firepower.

In the summer of 2024, Leicester brought in nine new faces, aiming to equip Steve Cooper with the resources to keep them in the top flight.
Notable investments included Oliver Skipp, Bilal El Khannouss, and Abdul Fatawu.
Yet, despite a promising opening to the season, Cooper was dismissed after just 12 games.
Under his replacement, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Leicester’s form has nosedived.
Financial constraints in January limited them to a single addition: Woyo Coulibaly, a right-back from Parma, signed for £3m.
The Dutch manager has shown little faith in Coulibaly, who has featured just four times—three as a substitute—since joining.
Other summer arrivals have also found game time hard to come by; Skipp, for instance, has started only one Premier League match under van Nistelrooy.
Injuries have compounded their woes, with Fatawu sidelined for the season just as he began to shine.
Collectively, Leicester’s transfer strategy has fostered a sense of disconnection on and off the field, significantly undermining their efforts this year.

The problem with there recruiting came after they had to sell all there best players to satisfy the fair play nonsense. they sold all of them for peanuts so could only afford to buy second rate replacements. And the main problem is they sacked an experienced manager and replaced him with someone with no experience in the premier league so the Quicker they get rid of R V N the better he can’t motivate the team they are just going through the motions. I’m not saying cooper would have done Eny better. I’ve supported city since 1961 and this is the worst team I’ve ever seen waring a city shirt. And the worst thing about it is no heads have rolled no ones paid for the shambles.
