Amid speculation linking Leicester with managers like Danny Rohl, van Nistelrooy has now offered a new perspective on his future with the club.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s clash with Newcastle, as featured on the When You’re Smiling BBC Radio Leicester podcast, van Nistelrooy dropped the strongest hint yet that his time at the King Power Stadium might not extend into next season.
The 48-year-old stated: “We have to find out over the coming weeks.”
“Coming in in December, and [with] how the winter window went, taking it into the new season and the challenges we face, it’s very important for me to be aligned.”
He further noted: “That alignment [with the Board] has to take place,” underscoring that “it needs to be sorted yesterday.”
Beyond Rohl, names like Liam Rosenior have also surfaced in connection with Leicester, suggesting a potential shift in the dugout could be on the horizon.

Unsurprisingly, Leicester’s poor run has fueled growing scrutiny of van Nistelrooy’s role.
With ten home defeats in the Premier League this season already, a loss to Newcastle would see Leicester set an unwanted club record, eclipsing a 141-year mark.
That said, not all of the problems can be laid at van Nistelrooy’s feet.
Despite a hefty summer spending spree, Leicester’s only January addition was Woyo Coulibaly, signed from Parma for £3m.
As a result, van Nistelrooy has been managing a squad tailored for Cooper’s vision.
Even so, there’s an argument he could be extracting more from the players at his disposal.
Looking ahead, a significant overhaul might be in the cards for next season, particularly with several managerial options available to the club.
