Yet, their recent form casts doubt, with only one victory in six games and three consecutive draws, ahead of a tough clash with Middlesbrough—a side vying for a play-off spot and who already defeated Leeds earlier this season.
If promotion is achieved, Leeds can retain their key players and splash the cash, with Adam Pope predicting six marquee signings and a budget exceeding £100m, following the blueprint of Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton from the previous summer.

Despite this uncertainty, The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports via his Patreon channel that Leeds are pursuing West Brom winger Grady Diangana, whose contract expires this summer.
A free agent-to-be, praised as “magnificent” by Lee Hendrie for his flair, Diangana is set to depart West Brom. Nixon notes Leeds’ interest, though MLS clubs are also in the race for his signature.
Diangana, however, has paused talks with American suitors, holding out hope for a switch to Leeds or even Premier League outfit Wolves, who see him as a useful squad addition.
Leeds’ interest in Grady Diangana is not new under Daniel Farke:
Farke’s admiration for Diangana is evident—he scored the decisive goal against Leeds in a 2023-24 West Brom win, and the Whites have been linked with a £7m move for him during Farke’s tenure.
Leeds aren’t short of wide options, with Dan James, Willy Gnonto, Largie Ramazani, and Manor Solomon currently in the mix, though next season’s picture remains unclear. Promotion could see Solomon’s loan made permanent.
Conversely, missing out on the Premier League might trigger departures for Solomon, and possibly James and Gnonto too, given their form and suitors circling, potentially paving the way for a Championship-bound Diangana to join Elland Road.
Whether Diangana would embrace a move to a Leeds side still in the second tier is uncertain. A Premier League Leeds, however, might set their sights on higher-profile targets beyond Diangana’s level.
