BAD NEWS – Nightmare Situation for Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham midfielder expected to miss the game against Manchester City after picking up late knock

Ange Postecoglou will continue Manchester City’s curse on Friday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if the Lilywhite half of north London dream of a long overdue silver medal.

Spurs have not lifted a major trophy for 16 agonising years and the FA Cup represents their best chance of breaking that drought in the 2023/24 season.

However, there are no tougher fights than this in the fourth round.

Man City could field Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne in tandem for the first time since August, and Pep Guardiola would love to score his first win in N17.

Tottenham centre-forward Giovani Lo Celso is ruled out of the FA Cup match against Manchester City.

The 27-year-old injured his thigh muscle in the FA Cup match against Burnley earlier this month, which kept him out of the game against Manchester United.

The extent of the injury was uncertain and the Evening Standard now reports that he is unlikely to feature in the FA Cup decider against Pep Guardiola’s team.

Although Lo Celso is nearing a return, he is not expected back until next week’s game against Brentford, suggesting a cautious approach from the club towards the Argentine midfielder.

Despite limited playing time, Lo Celso is having perhaps his best season as a Spurs player. James Maddison’s injury has given him the chance to impress Anzhi and he has not disappointed.

With two goals and two assists in ten appearances, he has filled the void left by Maddison quite well.

His absence will surely be a blow for Angel, who will be without Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison remains a doubt.
