At Tottenham this week, all eyes are on Heung-Min Son and Yves Bissouma, who have completed their international duties and are being assessed ahead of a possible return to club duty at the weekend.
Bissouma and Son were absent for the Spurs for the whole of January and the first week of February as they took part in the Africa Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup respectively.
Bissouma saw his Mali team eliminated in the quarter-finals at the weekend, but returned to Hotspur Way today to be checked ahead of Saturday’s game against Brighton.
Meanwhile, Son was disappointed when South Korea lost 2-0 to Jordan in the Asian Cup semi-final yesterday.
The Spurs captain is expected to return straight to Tottenham instead of travelling to South Korea with his international manager and the rest of the Korean squad (Sungmo Lee).

Thanks to Alasdair Gold, who tweeted the news of Son’s situation, we now have further information: “Son is expected to return to Hotspur Way tomorrow after his Asia Cup trip has come to an end.”
Charlie Eccleshare wrote more on the matter in his latest article for The Athletic. He claims that Son’s imminent return “allows him to play for Ange Postecoglou’s team against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday”.
In addition, Eccleshare tweeted: “Son is returning to Hotspur Way tomorrow, Bissouma returned today and is being assessed. Son will be assessed tomorrow. Standard practice on first day back.”
Sonny’s return to the bench on Saturday alone would be an incredible boost. If he’s healthy, I imagine Postecoglou will want him back in the team straight away, and I’m sure Son himself will be desperate to get back on the pitch.
