Jaylen Brown and Duncan Robinson had a huge falling out on the court last night. During the Celtics’ win over the Heat, Robinson and Brown got into a hard foul, which was called on Jaylen, who aggressively reacted to Duncan’s tough defence and got his hands caught, which could have led to an injury when Brown tried to peel off.
An audio recording of their interaction on the court was leaked, as the pair were aggressive towards each other.
Duncan Robinson: “Hey, get off me.”
Jaylen Brown: “What the f*k is your problem? Why’d you do that sht?”
Duncan Robinson: “Don’t do that sht, fck out of here”
Brown then argued with the referee, asking him to write down the first mistake, while Robinson repeated that the referee’s decision was correct.
Jaylen Brown: “ Get out of my face. Get out of my face. Get out of my face. What are you gonna do about it?”
Duncan Robinson: “You’re not like that”
The mistake that led to this conversation was attributed to Jaylen Brown, because Robinson reacted with force when he shook hands with him. We’ve already seen Kyrie Irving dislocate his shoulder in a similar situation, so it probably should have been a double technical or even a Heat foul, given that Duncan initiated the contact.
Brown had the last laugh as the Celtics won 110-106, snapping a losing streak against the Heat. Brown scored 20 points on 50.0% shooting and Robinson added 15 points on 45.5% shooting.
It was the first major on-court dispute between the two players, as there was no sign of a fight in their previous playoff match-ups.
