“It’s one of the biggest club’s in the World, I’m looking forward to…” – West Ham star man responds to reports of a sensational move to Join Mo Salah, Trent Arnold and Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool

West Ham United’s technical director Tim Steidten told Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg that Liverpool have not yet contacted him.

The Reds are without a sporting director after Jorg Schmadtke’s tenure expired following the January transfer deadline.

Liverpool are now looking for a quality successor, who is expected to play a big role in the appointment of a new manager to replace Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

Steidten has emerged as one of their targets for that role, but for now he continues to do a good job at West Ham until Liverpool make a concrete approach.

“I’ve heard that he is supposed to be on Liverpool’s list,” the Kladivars boss told Plettenberg.

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, so it’s an honour. But so far nobody from LFC has contacted me.

“In general, I feel very good at West Ham. I quickly realised how intense this league is. Accordingly, we signed the right players in the last transfer window. The team is strong so we can achieve our goals.

“I am looking forward to facing the next weeks and months until the end of the season. Of course, we are already planning the next transfer window. We will see what happens in the future.”

The German previously worked for Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen before moving to the Premier League last July and has what it takes to succeed Schmadtke at Liverpool.

This appointment must be the right one for the Reds, because it will decide who replaces Klopp, and it can be said that this is the most difficult job in world football at the moment.

The Anfield club has recruited mostly correctly in recent transfer windows and must continue to do so in the future as it builds on the successes under Klopp.
