West Ham manager David Moyes could accept a job in the Republic of Ireland if offered one, according to journalist Colm Boohig.
This statement comes at a time of speculation about the manager’s future at the London Stadium, with some fans recently unfurling a “Moyes out” banner in the stands.
According to London World Weekend editor Sebastian Vidal (21 February), the Hammers have made contact with Graham Potter and Julen Lopetegui to replace Moyes.
“I think David Moyes has done a phenomenal job,” Boohig said on Off The Ball Breakfast (21 February). “Bear in mind this is his second spell at West Ham, he’s come back and everybody’s said, ‘Oh no, that man. But he’s won his first trophy in decades and he’s got a really good squad of players.
“I don’t think he will accept a job in the Premier League, which he thinks is below his level, but he certainly won’t accept a job in the Championship.
“Maybe he will accept a job in the Republic of Ireland if they go up to him and say, ‘You’re the right man for us, you’ll be doing us a big favour if you accept this job. And then maybe he will.”

Moyes has done a great job at the London Stadium, taking the club to Europe with his performances in the Premier League.
And they have been very successful in Europe, with the Hammers now in the Europa League after winning the Conference League last season.
The Kladivars have qualified for the latter stages of Europe’s second club competition and are ninth in the Premier League, but many fans are still unhappy with their manager.
Many fans have shared their dissatisfaction with the manager’s style of play as they feel they have a talented squad capable of playing more attractive football.
The approach has been mostly successful, but the East London boss still seems to be under pressure.
It remains to be seen what the London Stadium bosses have in mind for the Scot as his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
