Juventus defender Federico Gatti rejected an approach from Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window and is now poised to sign a new contract with the Italian giants instead.

This comes from a report by Tuttosport, relayed by Calciomercato, which states that the defender “only thinks of Juventus” and, as a result, turned down Nottingham Forest’s advances in the winter window.

The newspaper reveals that Nottingham Forest were prepared to offer Gatti a “much more profitable contract” than what Juventus is proposing, and they were willing to spend “significant sums” to secure his signature.

However, the Italian defender remains fully committed to Juventus and has no intention of leaving the club anytime soon. As a result, he dismissed the approach from Nottingham Forest.

Tuttosport adds that the potential deal never gained traction because Gatti refused to get “into the heart of the matter” or provide any encouragement to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Instead, Forest’s offer was outright rejected, and Gatti is now set to sign a contract renewal with Juventus, extending his stay at the club after joining them in 2022 from Frosinone.
